As a proudly family-owned business, we bring integrity, accountability, and a long-term perspective to everything we do. Our mission is to deliver clean, affordable, and locally generated power while creating lasting value for the communities we serve.

Founded as a renewable energy developer, Bluestone has grown into a nationally recognised platform with a strong track record in solar PV and battery energy storage. We’ve secured grid capacity, planning consents, and commercial agreements across a significant pipeline of projects and now, we’re entering a new chapter as an Independent Power Producer.

This means we don’t just develop renewable energy assets we build, own, and operate them for the long term. Our focus areas include ground-mounted and rooftop solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and private wire/PPA solutions for public services and anchor institutions. By integrating generation, storage, and local supply, we’re helping to create a more flexible, resilient, and decentralised grid.

We work with purpose. Our approach is grounded in community benefit, public sector partnerships, and responsible development from site selection to post construction stewardship. Our preference for local authority and government-backed offtake agreements sets us apart, driving both long-term revenue certainty and meaningful public good.

Renewable Energy Assets

What we do

We specialise in the development, construction and long-term operation of renewable energy assets across the UK. Our core focus areas include:

  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) – essential to enabling the UK’s net-zero ambitions
  • Solar PV – including both ground-mounted solar farms and rooftop installations
  • Private Wire and PPA Solutions – offering direct energy supply to public services and anchor institutions

By integrating storage, generation and local supply, we are helping the UK transition to a more flexible, resilient and decentralised grid.

Working for Public Good

Our Approach

We work with purpose. Our strategy is grounded in:

  • Community benefit and ownership – Ensuring local people see lasting value from our projects

  • Public sector partnerships – Collaborating with local authorities, utilities, and central government bodies
  • Responsible development – From site selection to post-construction biodiversity and stewardship
  • Financial strength – Supported by our partnership with leading financial institutions who are providing us debt structures

Our preference for local authority and government-backed offtake sets Bluestone apart—driving both long-term revenue certainty and meaningful public good.

Our Journey

Our transition to IPP is a natural evolution. Having successfully developed and sold three portfolios of projects as a development partner with the likes of Total Energies, Eku and EON, we have now reached the stage where we can build, own and operate our assets—retaining value within the business and taking full responsibility for project performance over the long term.

This shift has been supported by the appointment of leading financial advisors who are over seeing our debt raise, and the creation of internal teams focused on construction oversight, technical delivery, and long-term asset optimisation.

We’re proud to be approaching financial close on three projects in summer 2025, with more to follow. Each of these will be built, owned, and operated by Bluestone, backed by strong commercial agreements and supported by public sector partners.

Clean Energy Goals

Where We’re Going

We are currently advancing a portfolio that will bring over 800MW of clean energy online by 2028. Key recent milestones include:

  • PPA LOI’s secured with local authorities including Glasgow City Council, Scottish Canals & Scottish Water
  • Winning a national tender with Scottish Canals to develop solar and BESS opportunities across their estate.
  • Active involvement with PRASEG, the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Renewable and Sustainable Energy, to help shape policy and amplify the role of independent producers in the UK’s energy transition

Why Bluestone?

We are proud to be family-owned and that brings a sense of integrity, accountability and continuity to everything we do. We care deeply about our role in the energy transition and how our projects are received by the communities around them. We don’t just deliver megawatts—we deliver meaningful partnerships that stand the test of time.
